“This show was truly one of the most amazing experiences of my time in high school. This production was a major task to undertake with the aspect of live music alongside all the other challenges that come with live theatre. But through perseverance, dedication, and hundreds of references to Peggy Sue we were able to put on a show the community loved to get up, dance, and sing along with. We were honored to have a group of Buddy Holly’s classmates from the Lubbock High School Class of 1955 attend our production. It was truly an eye-opening experience to hear them talk about Buddy’s life as a teenager, and to hear how he was the boy they walked home from school with every day. It was amazing to play one of my musical heroes, all while having the audience dance and ‘Rave On’ with us”

“The Cypress Woods HS production of
Buddy – The Buddy Holly Story was excellent! Great talent among all the high school students. Acting, singing, dancing, and playing the musical instruments was superb. The students had spent a lot of time studying the music and preparing to act the parts of the various people involved in the story of Buddy, Bopper and Ritchie Valens. They all get an A+ for their hard work. LHS classmates and friends attending were Shirley, Carole, Amber, Thelma, Vicky, Andy and Wally. I loved hearing ‘Oh Boy’ and ‘Maybe Baby’ on which The Picks did the original backup vocals. They knocked out a great rendition of ‘Rave On’. Thanks for all your work students”
